The 2010-2011 Red Friars dance season begins on October 8!

We would love to have your membership again, so our dancing opportunities don't disappear. If we already have your membership - Thank you for your support!

Your Board of Directors has worked hard to reduce costs, while offering high quality Ballroom dancing at an affordable price! The Board has decided that 6 dances will be held during this new dance season.

We need to have at least 85 couples to support the cost of these 6 dances, so you are very important to us.

Dues are $150 per couple for all 6 dances, or $125 for 4 dances.

Your dues are needed now! Your membership dues are the revenue for these dances.

Red Friars is a private dance group that has historically met in the ballroom facility at the Iowa State University Memorial Union, dancing to the sound of live orchestras performing in the big band style. Dances can include Swing, Foxtrot, Waltz, Rumba, Tango, Cha Cha, Mambo, and Polka as well as some others.

The elegance of the ballroom and music is reflected by the members who attend wearing evening attire — evening or cocktail wear for women and dinner jacket, tuxedo, or business suit for men.

Although a private club, guests are welcome. If you are interested in joining us for a wonderful evening of dance, please check our Membership page.

Founded in 1934, the Fall of 2010 marks the beginning of the Red Friars' 76th year as a club. Red Friars Dance Club was incorporated as a non-profit corporation on February 12, 1991.
